Bio

Nicholas Johnson is a graduate student researcher with the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Davis. He graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Sustainability, BSP in Urban Planning, and a certificate in Geographical Information Systems. His research interests include public transportation, complete streets policy, equity in transportation, and new mobility technologies. Nick has interned for Valley Metro, the regional public transportation agency for the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. There he assisted with capital planning projects which included light rail extension planning, light rail collision assessments, a park-and-ride utilization study, and a transit-induced gentrification assessment. He has also worked as an undergraduate researcher at ASU studying the impact of extreme heat on riders of public transit in the Phoenix Metro Area.
