Webinar: Top-Ten Strategies for California Automated Vehicle Policy
Panel Description:
Recent research from UC Davis highlights a top-ten list of options to align automated vehicle (AV) policy with California’s priorities for sustainable and equitable transportation. These strategies were mapped directly to legislative and regulatory gaps, and outline not only policy objectives, but a set of potential policy mechanisms to achieve them. This approach aims to dig deeper than previous research to think of how the state can practically address AVs, and what the options are for implementation. Topics include transit integration, disability access, insurance, and data collection. While the research focuses on California, many of the findings can support AV safety, mobility, equity and sustainability for all policy makers and practitioners.
