Tyler Reeb, Director of Research and Workforce Development, Center for International Trade & Transportation Unit, California State University, Long Beach
Dr. Tyler Reeb is the Director of Research for CITT, and the Associate Director of the Federal Highway Administration’s Southwest Transportation Workforce Center housed at CITT. He also serves as the Editor of METRANS NEWS, a tri-quarterly publication that summarizes METRANS research, education, and outreach efforts.
Dr. Reeb leads research teams who address challenges and opportunities related to the new mobility workforce, transformational technology, institutional change, organizational management, and transportation systems management operations (TSM&O). He draws from industry benchmarking, labor market analysis, future scenario planning, systems thinking, enterprise resource planning, and GIS tools to produce research-driven reports, articles/white papers, books, and multimedia products that promote innovation and civic partnerships between leaders in business, government, and education.
Dr. Reeb was the lead author for a successful $1.5 million FHWA grant application to fund deployment of the National Transportation Career Pathway Initiative. He is a member of two National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine standing committees focused on Transportation Education & Training and Native American Transportation Issues.
Dr. Reeb has a Bachelor’s in English Literature and Mass Media and a PhD in English with emphasis in Transdisciplinary Research Methods.
Donna DeMartino, Managing Director, LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency
In January 2020, Donna DeMartino became the Managing Director for the Amtrak operated Pacific Surfliner service and the 351-mile LOSSAN Corridor along which it operates.
From 2001-2020, DeMartino was the CEO at San Joaquin RTD. Under her leadership, RTD completed several large construction projects, including a new Downtown Transit Center, a Regional Operations Center, and five Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Corridors. RTD also completed environmentally important fleet changes, testing some of the first diesel-electric hybrid and all-electric buses in the state, ultimately converting the entire Stockton Metropolitan Area (SMA) fleet to all hybrid and electric buses and in 2017, RTD opened the first all-electric BRT Corridor in the nation. In 2018, RTD was named APTA’s “Outstanding Agency of the Year.”
From 1986-2001, DeMartino worked at Sacramento RT, where she was a member of the light rail start-up team and also worked in rail operations, contracts administration, engineering and construction, and facilities and capital program management.
DeMartino holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, a Master's Degree in Transportation Management, and a certificate from UC Davis in Construction Management.
DeMartino was named CalACT’s “Transportation Manager of the Year” in 2009, the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce’s “Business Manager of the Year” in 2013, the WTS “Woman of the Year” in 2015, and the “Susan B Anthony” recipient in 2019.
Doug Avery, President, Avery Energy Enterprises, Inc.
Doug Avery is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), with over 40 years of experience in the lighting industry. Currently, Doug serves as President and Co-Chair of the Calfornia energy Alliance (CEA) and Co-Chair of the statewide management team for the California Advanced Lighting Controls Training Program, (CALCTP) and President of the Board of Directors for the National Advanced Lighting Controls Training Program (NALCTP), Doug was one of the main leaders in the creation of this Green Energy Job’s Creation program that was funded in partnership with Southern California Edison (SCE), IBW/NECA, the State of California, UC Davis’s California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC), PG&E, Sempra, SMUD, the California Community Colleges, and the lighting and controls industry.
